90’s Cube
Inspired by the bright colors and bold lines of Keith Haring’s art, I decided to experiment with illustrating on a three dimensional surface in a similar style. My goal was to make each side unique while ensuring the piece still felt connected thematically. I focused on symbols and icons reminiscent of the late 1990s.
I used watercolors to paint each side of the cube on a single sheet of paper, outlined them with a magnum sharpie, cut them out, and glued each one to the side of a granola bar box. For the video, I placed the cube on a pottery wheel running at a low speed and placed a color-changing LED light above it.
